I have blogged this before. I am a HUGE admirer of motorcycles. Having owned several street bikes and dirt bikes I really enjoy going to bike week. It is really a fashion show, a circus & historical all at the same time, kind of the opposite of a new york runway, more like quick, turn and RUN AWAY. Tons of "different types" and personalities mingle.

A few years ago I actually had done an engagement session at the Boothill saloon on Main street which was one of the greatest I have ever done. They were kind enough to let us in there and use the hole place. It's amazing to see the huge dichotomy of people from different walks of life share an admiration for 2 wheels. From Corporate big wigs to motorcycle clubs, to guys like me, photographers.

This year Is the 1st I have missed in several years do to freezing weather and from what I hear from friends this year is quite slow. The cold weather has attendance down and bikers deceiding to sit in front of the fireplace instead of throttling down main st. or A1A.

How to pick your wedding photographer

Scott's Top 11: How To Pick a Wedding Photographer Planning a wedding can be exhausting. The dress, the invitations, the cake... Choosing the right photographer is a snap, as long as you follow my top ten tips: #1. Connection: Go with a photographer you connect with and like. You are trusting this person to capture you heart on one of the most important days of your life. #2. Equipment: Equipment DOES matter in wedding photographer. If you're paying a professional rate, you need to know that the photographer has high-end camera bodies and lenses that maximize available light in high resolution. Don't be shy to ask candidates about both their camera and lighting equipment. We use 4 camera bodies and a multitude of the BEST lenses offered & lighting equipment that can handle any situation. I use the Nikon D3s ( the BADEST camera on the planet right now for wedding photography) The D700 & D300, While Karen, my assistant uses the Canon 5D mark 2 (The BEST Canon camera there is in my NIKON opinion) See we can all get along. #3. Back-up Plan: Ask about your photographer's back-up plan. What about equipment failure? It happens. Does he or she have extra equipment? Whatever you do, don't choose a photographer with only one camera! #4. Back-up People: No matter how good your photographer is, nobody can be in more than one place at one time. Is your photographer going to be bringing a second shooter or assistant? This is important. More people mean more angles and more opportunities to get "the magic moment." #5. Budget: Figure out where photography ranks in your budget, then see what photographer's fall into your price range. Everyone prices differently so make sure you are not comparing apples with oranges. Are engagement shots included in the package? What about albums? Make sure you are getting what you want before signing a contract. #6. Communication: Try to conduct your conversations with candidates over the phone or in person. You get a better sense of whether or not the person is right for you than over email. #7. References: By all means, ask for references and follow up on them. #8. Turn-A-Round Time: You should expect to see your images within 2-4 weeks. Be careful if the turn-a-round is longer than that. #9. After The Wedding: Half of the job of the modern wedding photographer happens after the wedding. These days most people have a decent digital camera including your uncle Harry (we will get into that next). And most people do think that any digital camera is good enough and that the camera is the only thing needed for photography. It's as easy as pushing the button, right?...What about imagination & creativity how to capture the most important of details and the spontaneous, candid moments that are the butter on the bread that just causes you to melt every-time you see them. Photos are optomized in Photoshop and elsewhere. It is here that much of the "look" you see on photographers websites happen. Make sure your package includes some re-touching and post production. That you like. #10. My Uncle has a Digital camera: Don't have a family member photograph one of the most important day of your new lives. How many weddings has your uncle photographed. Do they really want the responsibility of this day. Aren't they there to celebrate your day. Remember these will be shared with family and friends as well as your children & grand children for generations. And if you want 2 photographers would you need to ask your Aunt to be his assistant...LOL #11. For smooth sailing on ALL OF THE ABOVE, choose Scott Craig Photography. Just kidding! Well, not about the smooth sailing part... but that does lead me into my biggest tip. Choose someone who makes you laugh and that you both feel a connection with that also has the modern vision of photography that you will be happy to share for generations. You will appreciate the light-heartedness on what can be one of the most nerve-wracking days of your life. After all, when done right, posing for your photographer can be a real blast. I Phone MUST HAVE apps

1) Shazam- Most of you may know this app. But for those of you who don't. Have you ever heard a song in a night club or on the radio (who listens to that anymore) It's satellite today all i've listen to for over 3 years now. Anyway, hold your Iphone up and it will tell you the name of song, the Artist and take you to Itunes to purchase it. It is truly a must have for music fans.

2) Voice 4 Mail-Forget typing. Just speak into microphone and send it as an email. It is received in the recipients inbox as regular mail. When they open it, they will hear your actual voice.

3) Speak 4 it- Basically, it's a yellow pages for businesses. Looking for a Starbucks address,phone # or directions. Just say Starbucks and it will bring up all in your area. Lost and you don't have an address for where you are going. Just Speak the Business and you will have all the info you need. AWESOME App.

This is the NEWEST one and I think it may be the best! These are 2 different ones.

3)Dragon Dictation & Dragon Search- Short and sweet. These are AWESOME and will reduce the amount of time you use the keyboard by 80% or more. Dragon Search is very similar to Voice 4 mail, but somewhat different. Just say Starbucks & this App will take to the internet (google)to the website, but it will also have a header at the top so that with a push of a button you can see what people are saying on twitter/ youtube and others.

Dragon Dictation-just speak into microphone & it will convert your voice to text. You can then use it for texting/emails or calendar inputs. I use this (everyday) so convenient and WOW talk about less time on a keyboard.

I could go on forever on these, but will spare you. Just go and try them. One of the greatest things is that they are FREE!!!. As we all know driving & Texting is a NO NO, Just think, 80% less keyboard use...They may take a little getting use to, but once you do, you will thank me.

Long Distance love

Michael was here from New Zealand to go to College and while here for education he did not realize his life would be changed forever. When he found Crystal he was instantly taken with her smile and beautiful eyes. Being around them for 2 seconds and you can see the love they share for each other. I really had a fun time with both of them & can't wait for the wedding.

3 Alarm Fire..Hot Romance

Ahhh Candace & Danny. What can I say. Danny, a firemen is a really laid back type who is confident and secure. During our e session he was really up to anything suggested and it just makes things more fun and easy to get romantic/fun and spontaneous images. When talking to Candace about her wedding day & you just see and feel all of her excitement. Danny just supports her in every way and supports her in every decision on there wedding plans. Candace, oozes her vision or there wedding day from every pore of her skin and it just makes me feel soooo honored to be the photographer that documents there day. They will be getting married in about a month at the Lake Mary events center. It is one of the most beautiful places to get married.

Can't wait till their wedding day.

Maureen & Steve Married at Hammock Dunes

BURRR! married on 1/9/2010 the coldest day in Florida history. Maureen and Steve had a beautiful wedding at Hammock Beach Resort located on a gorgeous golf course over looking the Ocean with close family and friends in attendance there were plenty of laughs and good times. The FREEZING weather did stop us from getting as much as we wanted, but still sooooo many beautiful images.

Maureen looked AMAZING and absolutely BEAUTIFUL and Steve polished up pretty good as well.
