Kids and your wedding...Tips! from Orlando wedding photographer

I know there is PLENTY of info out there for all you brides planning a wedding, but one thing I don't see covered a lot is what to do with small children involved.

So, from articles I have read as well as my own experiences I thought I would share a few w/you.

1) Do have a dress rehearsal: A week before the wedding have your child wear the outfit for about an hour. You want them to feel comfortable on the big day. Let them move around and even dance to some music. You want them to fell as if they could wear this most anytime.

2) Use the web: Or magazines etc.. Show your child other wedding images or videos w/ children that are in a wedding. Use this to encourage them and not to be worried about walking.

3) If there is any concern that your child won't make it down the isle, have a bridesmaid help along the way or have a family member at the end of the isle coaxing them...Or if this fails bribe them with candy or toys...LOL, but it works with my son,EVERYTIME!

4) Have an older sibling dress up with them to see how easy & fun it is.

5) Practice walking with the ring pillow & use something to symbolize the rings. Although, the pillow is mainly for show as the best man will already have the rings (we hope).

this next one works w/my daughter EVERYTIME!.

Of course let them know there is a GREAT reward for doing this. What you ask?. How about their picture being taken by a photographer at the end. Okay that won't work, but you can try....LOL

Until next time,
SC
