Rose & Welby at Mission Inn Resort Oooh LA LA

Spicy Hot! and Beautiful. That`s how I think of Rose & Welby`s wedding day. Filled with gorgeous sunlight that kissed the faces of everybody who attended. Including Erlande & Ricardo (Hi Guys) whose wedding I photographed last month. Mission in Resort is a "secret" location that not many people in Orlando talk about. Located in howey in the hills just past mount Dora and is really a beautiful place to get married.

Rose & Welby looked like they stepped out of the pages of a wedding magazine & you can see as clear as the nose on your face the love and respect they share for each other. With a small bridal party of about @16 people...LOL it made for very interesting & fun photography. The reception took place there as well. From the touching speeches to the all out laughter of others, it was spectacular. At most weddings I typically find myself dancing to the music while photographing...this was no exception. Music was FANTASTIC!. I think I danced off (while working of course) a couple pounds.

You guys were fantastic!. Thank you for making me feel so much a part of your wedding day.

Until Next time,

Urban Graffiti ... When I was a kid

When I was a young lad growing up in NYC I was always fascinated with graffiti. In New York city it`s everywhere. On Buildings, taxis, buses, trains, sneakers...yes sneakers wherever it could fit u could see it. Some VERY good, some VERY bad, but still loved it as an art. You could not walk a block w/o hearing a RUN DMC song & seeing some sort of graffiti. As you could imagine many people had and still have a problem with this as it is destructive to many businesses appearances. The Cities expense of cleaning got to be a big problem and to this day is a criminal offense. I totally understand that and am by no means in favor of any crime. But, from an art form is what I am talking about here. I have always had a secret admiration for people who could draw let alone create beautiful art out of spray cans of paint. My art finds me looking through a lens creating something that lasts literally a fraction of a second & then it`s gone, forever!. Art is everlasting and like photography can mean different things to different people. What you like someone else thinks it`s trash, but still you like it. This "stuff" I like!

I find myself always looking for new places to photograph & one day while out I found a place that is absolutely magical to me. There, they were graffiti walls and REALLY good ones at that it brought me back to my childhood and while I stood there for what had to be an hour studying & admiring them, thinking back to my childhood with all the graffiti. Spectacular artists who express themselves through this form of art.

I plan on doing some shoots here in the very near future. It`s not for everyone, but for me it takes me back to when I was a kid. Long live graffiti and RUM DMC

Until next time.

A "twist" on the Engagement session

Meet Juslin & Maggie. This is an Esession w/ a twist. Here`s the story. About 3 months ago I had the pleasure of meeting Maggie the younger sister to see about hiring me to photograph her wedding. Ironically, I had a previous "verbal" commitment from another couple for the "same day" March 21st BTW.

So, I explained that I would still like to meet in the small chance that the other couple did not bind the date. So, we agreed. Upon meeting with Maggie and her Mother I really felt that she is a very sweet girl and truly liked my work. At the end we left it as I would be in touch with her w/24hrs of this meeting. I had to contact my other couple to reconfirm their commitment to reserving my services. Well, we met that Sunday and the date was now reserved with my other couple. I called Maggie to tell her and remember that I even offered to see if I could help recommend another photographer. She kindly thanked me and that was the end or so I thought. Several months later I received an Email from Maggies sister Juslin. Her email read "my sister recommended you". At that point I honestly could not figure out who it was. Upon asking who her sister was she told me "Maggie" I was floored by that. Since I knew Maggie had to chose another photographer.  And she still recommended me... WOW!

Here is the slight "twist" on the Esession. When I met Maggie and Juslin we talked and found out that Juslins Fiance Bobby lives and works in Louisiana at this time on television and would be unable to make the engagement session So, to thank Maggie for the referral of Juslin, I decided to make it a family shoot. Last Friday I met them, included their Mother, Grandmother (so cute) and their Aunt Carol. We had a really good time, relaxed and got to see the "girls in action". They have a great bond and totally at ease with each other. (you know what i`m talking about...LOL).

I will have the pleasure of meeting Bobby this Friday and will be photographing Juslin & Bobby`s wedding on July 4th. I expect a lot of fire works that day & night.

Finally, a HUGE thank you to Maggie, who by the way found another photographer whose work I have seen and KNOW they will be very happy.

See you guys soon,
Scott

FINALLY!!. The key

WOW! time goes so fast. Just over a month ago I blogged about how my family and I were going on a little cruise to Key west and the Cayman Islands. Well, I finally am able to share some pictures. Check out my kids...They are sooo cute!!.

I must admit I have never used a point and shoot camera before... (i am a camera snob..LOL). But I knew I did not want to lug around my heavy and expensive camera for this so, I purchased a cheap $100 one just for this vacation. And hey for a $100 I didn`t expect much, But in some cases have been pleasantly surprised. Definitely a convenient way due to it`s light weight.

Anyway, onto some images. These are all from Key West...it is soooo beautiful there and well more expensive to live. From the famous "Sloppy Joes" to the "characters" hanging out on most corners it really is a friendly place and would suggest you make it there atleast once.

Until next time,
Scott

Good Times with the time change

I met Becky & Rick in Winter Park for there E session on what turned out to be a beautiful day for pictures. Even though I forgot about the time change and the sun being a little harsh that time of day we really had a good time and managed to get some pretty cool images as well. I thing I was unaware of on this Sunday was WP was having a St Patricks day festival which caused a few more people to be there then normal, but nobody minded & we did our thing. 1 thing that made my job easier was that these guys were open to anything and that gives a photographer a peace of mind, an ease, to do some things that will produce a "unique" look to the finished images. Rick & Becky were really good at posing and using there faces to capture the "cool" look. I always like to walk no matter where I do the e-sessions it gives us all a time to get to know each other and just talk. I think some of the most fun of being a wedding photographer are when I do engagement sessions I have always been a people person and like to bond with all my brides and grooms. Today was a great time for us all. It was relaxed (which I always like) on a beautiful afternoon in Winter Park.

Of course I am anxiously awaiting there wedding day in May. Check back in June to see some of there wedding.

Rick, BTW I think you looked fantastic... Becky what do you think?

Until next time,
Scott

Jesse & Kelly…Genuine!

Talk about 2 people that are “real”. Jesse & Kelly are just that. What you see is what you get. And that’s a good thing. Jesse is a true gentleman who towers  at least  @ 6`5in easily while Kelly might be 5`4in.  They are the cutest. Kellys smile is infectious and I so admire their honesty. Spend 5 minutes with these guys and you are at ease and you know you have new friends.

We met up in Winter Park late in the day. We laughed, talked, and well a lot more laughing. Secretly, I think Jesse watches America’s next top model because he just had “IT” down. It was natural and masculine at the same time. Together we got a nice variety of images from romantic to fun laughing to urban street.

They are getting married in April at Eagle Creek and if the esession was any indication of what I am in store for …I can`t wait.

See you guys soon,
