2010 weddings looking good

Are you getting married in 2010?. I am amazed at just how many weddings I am booking for 2010 already. Even though in these economic times couples are usually booking about 6 months out from there date. Some of our weddings next year will be at Rollins College, Portofino Bay Hotel, Vizcaya in Miami, The Omni at Champions gate & The Lake Mary events center. These venues book very fast as well, thus another reason to book early.

I am meeting w/ couples that appreciate my style of wedding photography and are booking for 2010 & even 1 for 2011. Early this month I did a perfect wedding guide bridal show & just yesterday booked my 3rd from just that show alone. That will put us at 12 booked weddings for 2010. The reason I bring this up is if you are getting married in 2010 you need to reserve your vendors ASAP because you should not have to "settle" for your 2nd or 3rd choice because of waiting to long.

I would love meet with you & to talk to you about your wedding day. Also, I am still offering 2009 pricing for 2010 weddings until September of this year.

Best Wishes,
Scott Craig

Kristen & Brian Esession in Winter Park

Sometimes I get so busy it`s hard to remember what day it is. This was one of those days. When I 1st scheduled Kristen & Brian I had totally forgotten that the Sunday we scheduled was "Fathers Day"...oops!. Actually, we all all forgot. I later found out it was even Kristens sisters birthday.

But, it was actually a great time to do this esession as the streets in Winter Park were not so crowded although the humidity was unbearable it was cute to see this young couple interact with each other. Kristens eyes and smile can light up the room. And I learned Brian although soft spoken is in the Marines and was so polite & respectful and really did quite well in front of the camera. We got a ton of really cute images that I`m sure will make this Marine happy. You guys are to cute!.

Thanks for a great time!,

Let`s have some fun...Braveheart style

Ok so you may be asking yourself a "Braveheart style" wedding. Well sort of. I always tell people that many times good wedding images come from 1st.) have fun Becky & Rick fit this criteria for great images perfectly. It`s the biggest day of your life and possibly the biggest party you`ll have in your honor. #2) have a good relationship with your photographer. For me, as many of you know, I like to laugh and always have fun. So, if you are the same we will get along GREAT! # 3) as a photographer that likes to push the conventional thoughts of what "traditional" wedding photography should be, I often encourage props in images. In this case it was very unexpected. #4) "1st look" this is becoming more popular these days. Rick & Becky opted to do this. This is when the couple opts to see each other for a few minutes before the ceremony. It allows us to get some really great images w/o the stress of being on a time line for the reception or guests. It also enables you to enjoy the day w/o being pulled in & out of the day for images. Many of the wedding images in magazines are done this way. For me, it`s becoming more popular with about 25% of my clients agreeing to this. The 1st time they see each other is magical.

Married at the Winter Park Civic center on what turned out to be a beautiful day for a wedding even though just days before we had treacherous weather with tons of rain. As a matter of fact I remember Rick being a little concerned when we met days prior (Rick i`m sure you remember as well...LOL) But it worked out perfectly.

This was the 1st time I ever photographed a wedding where the best man wore a REAL SWORD ala Braveheart. I`m not kidding. He even had the extreme talent to make it himself. He was armed in case anyone stood up who objected to thier marriage. Well, as you can guess not 1 objection. This gave new meaning to "crowd control". The sword came in quite handy during the cake cutting as well. Another 1st for me.

It was really nice to see the 2 families and there dynamics get along so well. It felt like a family reunion at times. We also got to hear Rick do some singing along with some of his good friends that were there. Can`t remember the song, but I think from the 80`s... I`m glad they all have day jobs.

Thank you all for a fantastic time.

Until Next time,

Sensational celebration at the Portofino Bay Hotel

When John met Vanessa it was originally a long distance relationship. While John was living in Orlando Vanessa still lived in Aruba (very nice). But thier love pulled them closer & the day finally came when they would exchange there vows. Having two ceremonies the 1st held a very beautiful church in Kissimmee and the second at one of the most beautiful Hotel and wedding venues in all of Florida. The Portofino Bay Hotel. This place just has a european flair to it. Vanessa, whom by the way I never even met till the wedding day looked absolutely gorgeous. All my contact and conversation was done 100% through John. And after consulting with Vanessa, agreed to hire me to document their wedding day. I am soooo glad they did, as I witnessed one of the most fun couples EVER!. I was able to capture so many emotional pictures between Vanessa & her wonderful mother as well as John and his Mom.
With a great bridal party the day had some nice opportunities for fun images. Check out all the pictures in the wedding gallery.

You guys are fantastic! thank you for such a beautiful and fun day.

Best Wishes,
